Keiki are not going hungry while schools are closed, thanks to nonprofit and education groups who continue serving free meals during the stay-at-home order.

(April 13 Update: New locations step up to feed keiki free meals while schools remain closed.)
At least 10 more sites began serving free breakfasts and lunches to children over the past week as public schools in Hawaiʻi remain closed through April 30, and possibly longer, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The Hawaiʻi Department of Education now has 37 locations on Oʻahu where Grab-N-Go meals are available. Throughout the state of Hawaiʻi, a total of 66 schools are distributing meals.
In addition to public schools, the YMCA of Honolulu now has a total of eight free-meal pick-up sites for keiki. Of them, one site (Puʻuwai Momi Housing) distributes meals to residents only.
All meals are served in disposable containers. Keiki ages 18 and younger and their accompanying adults can pick up their food without interacting with workers and volunteers. School cafeterias are not open during this period.
