If you follow my lifestream or those of my close friends, you’ll know we absolutely love Instagram. Before there was a “Tech Section” on Nonstop Honolulu, John Garcia asked if Instagram was rad or fad. Instagram made a clever strategic move in February 2011 by releasing its Instagram API to third-party developers. Since then, there’s been an avalanche of Insta-apps.

Sincerely, Inc. joined the party with Postagram, a web and iPhone app that lets you make postcards from your Instagram photos. Your Postagram photos are printed on thick, high-quality photo postcards at 300dpi with a customized tweet-worthy message of 140 characters. For 99 cents, your postcard can be delivered anywhere in the world. U.S. deliveries only take 2-5 days, while international deliveries take a bit longer.

How to send Postagrams?

You have two simple ways of sending Postagram Postcards. Go to the Postagram app website or download the iPhone app.

Login to Postagram using your Instagram username and password. Once you receive authorization, you’ll see all of your snaps. The iPhone app takes a bit longer to load all your photos on 3G, but it’s pretty fast on WiFi.

Now select the photo you want to send and press the orange “Use Photo!” button. Stop laughing. “Manscaping” is serious business. Nerds with a uni-brow is not a good look, but I digress…

This is where you write your customized message or you can leave the caption of the photo from your original posting to Instagram. Your Instagram profile picture will serve as the “from,” so you may want to make sure it a good one.

When you’re finished with your masterpiece, press “Continue” and give it one more once over before checking out. Postagram will let you know how long you should expect for you postcard to be delivered. All that’s left to do is wait for the phone call once your card is received.

I can totally see some addictive properties of Postagram and from watching the @postagram Twitter stream, they seem to be off to a fantastic start. Time to go make some more cards.
