Pics: The Beach Boys
The classic American rock band touched down in Honolulu for a special show on Sunday at Blaisdell Arena. One of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time, the Beach Boys launched their career in the early 1960s, playing 1950s style rock and roll with five part harmony, and the show in Honolulu proved they haven’t lost their touch over the years. Original founding member Mike Love and his band-mates, including Bruce Johnston, who became an official member in 1965, and newer member actor John Stamos, played a lot of the hits that audience members knew and loved, including “Surfing USA,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and more for the band’s eighth show in Hawaii.
