Party pics: Yelp’s Red and White Social
Yelp elite gathered Monday evening for a wine and sake tasting party at Kaka’ako Wine Loft and Sake Collection. Fans of red wine were encouraged to wear red, while fans of white wine or sake wore white.
Five wines were featured: 2012 cabernet sauvignon from Canoe Ridge Vineyard, 2013 merlot from Markham Vineyard, 2013 Federalist Lodi zinfandel, 2014 Cotes-du-Rhone Belleruche rose from M. Chapoutier, and a 2013 sauvignon blanc from Paragon Vineyard. There were just two sakes: Kikusui’s junmai ginjo and Kubota Senju, a tokubetsu honjozo.
Kaka’ako Wine Loft and Sake Collection, at 665 Halekauwila St. next to Mother Waldron Park, holds weekly Tastings Friday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
