Party pics: Sailor Jerry Festival

The inaugural Sailor Jerry Festival, brainchild of Jason Miller from 808shows.com and Josh 86 from Downbeat, took over six Chinatown venues on the anniversary of the legendary tattoo artist’s death: Old Ironside Tattoo (Sailor Jerry’s old tattoo shop location), Bar 35, Downbeat Lounge, NextDoor, The Manifest and Black Cat Tattoo with Sailor Jerry influenced art, live music, a pin-up themed party, rum drinks, motorcycles and tattoos, of course.
Some highlights of the night: Meeting special guest Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins’ son Dave Collins, Old Ironside realizing that their $50 “mystery tattoo” special was way too popular, the pin-up model fashion show at Bar 35, packed sets by Black Square and Anti-Matter at Downbeat and Go Jimmy Go’s last show of 2015 at NextDoor.
