Party pics: First Friday February 2014
We hit some of the most happening spots during February’s First Friday in Chinatown, including NextDoor, hosting geishas and Master Calligrapher Uehira Bakei from Osaka, who later demonstrated his craft with a giant calligraphy scroll on Hotel Street; The ARTS at Marks Garage for the 10 Grains of Rice project, a showcase of the functional and sculptural work of 10 ceramic artists; the Chinatown Artists Lofts, including woodblock print carver Sergio Garzon’s workshop; the last occurrence of ARTmusicBEER in the Chinatown Courtyard; Loading Zone, with an installation by artist Jimmy Mack; and the soft opening of brand-new venue Fresh Cafe Downtown, located in the former Indigo space on Nuuanu Ave.
