Outings: Eating our way around Oahu

My brother and his wife, who live in Philadelphia, surprised us by showing up unannounced on Christmas Eve. The scene was something you’d expect to see in a holiday movie. To make the most of the trip, I took some vacation time and we all embarked on a little trek around the island. This picture says it all; we ate… and ate… and ate some more.

First stop: Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck in Haleiwa. It wasn’t too crowded on this particular day. We found a great parking spot and walked right up and placed our order. My brother and his wife got scampi, my son wanted a hot dog and I wanted to try the lemon butter shrimp.
