On the Download – July 2012
We didn't want to say this out loud, but a trail of indisputable evidence left us no choice.
We're being invaded by Canada.
You see, forces from the North have penetrated our borders with undeniably catchy pop music, and our defenses have been rendered utterly useless.
First, Celine Dion made our hearts beat. Then, Justin Bieber promised to be our Baby.
Now, we can't go two feet without someone lip-synching in their own music video. (We expected it from Abercrombie & Fitch, but really, Rebecca? Really??)
It's time to bring out the big guns. And by big guns, we mean DJ Anit, resident DJ at Addiction Nightclub in The Modern Honolulu. The 26-year-old has spun for some of the industry's hottest stars, like Nas, Busta Rhymes, Run DMC, Nicole Scherzinger and Bruno Mars. And while her mixes normally consist of hip-hop, house and electro, when it comes to summer jams, she prefers chilling to classic '90s sing-along anthems by all-American musicians.
Consider it your patriotic duty to press play.
