New to the Scene: Fresh Cafe Chinatown

Picture 1 of 24

After hip Kakaako spot Fresh Cafe won the lease for the old Indigo location on Nuuanu Avenue in Chinatown, there was a buzz of speculation as to what they were going to do with the place. One thing’s for certain: Gone are the moody, sultry red lights and brick walls that characterized Indigo. In its place, a fresh look with clean white walls, modern decor and a youthful take on the Chinatown aesthetic. The venue is the largest combined restaurant/event space in Chinatown, with about 5,300 square feet, and has been designed as a unique combination of takeout lunch spot, daytime café with homemade, healthy, locally-sourced food, cocktail lounge and nightlife spot.

Grand Opening date is set for First Friday, February 7.
