Andrew Le dishing out pho at the Blaisdell farmers' market.

Paul Zarate of Zaratez Mexicatessen shuttered his food truck selling chorizo and carnitas burritos and mulitas (two corn tortillas griddled with meat and cheese), but will pop-up for one day on Sunday, December 11 at Prima Kailua. Tickets will be released at noon today at: zaratez.eventbrite.com.

Word is there’s a one-night-stand speakeasy slated at R&D, the new art and design bookstore in Kakaako. It will feature cocktails by Dave Newman of Nobu and Kyle Reutner of Town, food by Andrew Le of The Pig and the Lady. Check @rndHI for the (hushed) details.

The Pig and the Lady is back. (Disclosure: I was a partner in this pop-up venture, but no longer have a business stake in it.) Wednesdays at the Blaisdell farmers’ market, Andrew Le serves up noodle soups (perfect in this “cold” weather). This week, it’s “Chicken and the Egg,” chicken pho with a poached egg ($8). While you’re there, grab a jar of kaya ($4.75), an utterly addictive, thick pandan and coconut curd. Le expects to have the prix fixe dinners running again as soon as December 9. Check the website for updates.
