New food truck: Sweet Revenge

A woman, divorced after 25 years of marriage, starts a bakery called Sweet Revenge and we're the beneficiaries. Kathy Masunaga debuts her hot pink pie truck Friday at Eat the Street. Grab one of her chicken or beef pot pies, well-executed classics with tender pastry crust encasing braised meat, peas and carrots. For dessert, her chocolate s'more with homemade, torched marshmallows stacked on chocolate ganache and a homemade graham cracker, served alongside hot chocolate, are an absolute must.

Masunaga has been selling her pies and sweets under the name Bliss Bakery at St. Clements Farmers' Market for a few months now, but decided the name too Martha Stewart, and quite frankly, she hated it. Sweet Revenge suits her better. She still sets up a table at that farmers' market every Thursday, where she carries a wider variety of sweet pies such as apple crumble, Meyer lemon meringue, fresh fruit tart with pastry cream, chocolate mousse and chocolate haupia mousse.

Find Sweet Revenge Thursdays at St. Clements Farmers’ Market, 4:30 – 7:30 at 1515 Wilder Ave. near Makiki District Park, and this Friday (2/24) at Eat the Street.
