New eats: Happy Valley Pasta & Pizza

A new restaurant has opened in the former Tavola Tavola spot on Monsarrat, and it’s got a lot of people curious. According to one of the waitstaff, Happy Valley Pasta & Pizza is a chain from Japan, and this is their first Hawaii/U.S. venture.

I’m going to preface this review by saying that most of the food we tried is not exciting by any means, but falls into the “affordable dining out” category. Most of it is basic, but anything that strays from the norm is a Japanese take on Italian. You’re going to see that we liked about half the things we tried, and passed on the rest.
