New at the Kakaako Farmers Market

The mix of vendors continues to change at Kakaako Farmers Market, Saturdays at Ward Warehouse. Some of the new(ish) vendors worth checking out:

Daylight Mind Coffee Co.
Shawn Steiman, who wrote The Hawaii Coffee Book and spent much of his doctorate studying coffee science, made the leap from coffee consultant to cafe owner earlier this year. Daylight Mind Coffee Co. is in Kona, but every Saturday, Steiman brings his coffee to Honolulu. Find his table at the market for a cup of coffee, hot or iced, from Maui or Kau on the Big Island, and pick up bags of coffee, which include beans from Waialua Estate and the Hawaiian Blend, a mix of Maui, Oahu, Kau and Kona beans.

Tasty Dim Sum and Snacks
Dim sum at a farmers market—how novel! The dim sum is steamed fresh on site and include sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves and vegetable dumplings. Pick up jin dui here, too, fried sesame balls filled with red bean paste or coconut.

Hawaiian Fresh Farms
This goat cheese and honey producer on the North Shore recently started offering a Farmers Breakfast menu, which includes buttermilk pancakes with apple bananas and bourbon maple syrup and a bacon fried rice loco moco.
