My War Against Weight – Episode 0

I’ve been a fatty my whole life.
Sure, there have been different degrees of fatness over the years, but I’ve always been on the wrong side of the BMI scale. I’ve lost weight, gained it back and lost it again. The yo-yo pattern wasn’t due to the failure of fad weight loss plans. It was always based on diet and exercise. Basically, when I ate right and worked out, the weight came off. When I stopped, the weight came back.
Recently I was able to lose about 40 pounds in four months. I was eating clean and working out regularly, and I felt great. I had to buy new clothes and for once I was regularly getting compliments on my appearance. But once I hit that 40-pound milestone, I plateaued. Fortunately I haven’t really gained any weight back, but I haven’t lost any more either. That’s what spurred me to write this blog.
I need to continue to lose more weight in a way that maximizes my chances of keeping it off. That means no fasting, no juicing, no pills. Just clean food and regular exercise. My goal is to lose an additional 10 pounds by the end of June. It’ll be difficult, but it’s definitely achievable.
I’ll be updating my progress and sharing my strategies and challenges here weekly. I’m hoping that blogging about my experience will keep me accountable and maybe provide a forum for others struggling with their weight to share their ideas. Join me on this journey to wellness and check in with me every week. And please feel free to offer suggestions. I will need all the help I can get!
