If you’re like me, you like sweet drinks on some days, fizzy or savory drinks on others, and once in a while, you just need a Bloody Mary or a beer. To sum it up, I like variety, and I like exotic drinks that don’t cost a fortune.
Here are some of my favorite cocktails from all over Honolulu — drinks that I’ve tried, loved and keep on going back for.
First up: Thai me up. Thirtyninehotel is famous for its menu of amazing custom cocktails, and it was hard to pick just one. But the Thai Me Up ($10 or $5 at happy hour from 5-8 p.m.), an Asian twist on a mojito with basil and lemongrass, is the one that I find myself ordering the most often. It’s savory, refreshing and potent.
