The abrupt halt in tourism caused by Maui’s Aug. 8 wildfire disaster has thrown many of the island’s small, neighborhood shops into serious fights to stay afloat. While you may not be able to hop over for an impromptu shopping session, you can lend them support from O‘ahu by snagging some items from their online stores. What’s also great is that all of these Maui boutiques carry pieces created by local artists, designers and makers, which means your supports extends to them as well.
