JCCH New Year's Ohana Festival

The annual New Year’s Ohana festival, hosted by the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, brought out hundreds of families Sunday to chow down on traditional Japanese and local food and watch the many performances and attractions, including the Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony, Taiko, live bands, mochitsuki (mochi pounding), archery, karate and kendo. It was also a place to get your omamori, traditional Japanese good-luck charms and protective amulets for the new year. Take a look at the food, performances, and colorful sights from the festival.
