Hunt for Hawai‘i History in the Heart of Honolulu

Think you know your way around the State Capitol area? Take this test to prove it!

Sure, you can point out the State Capitol and remember where the Hawai‘i State Library is. And you’ve been able to recognize ‘Iolani Palace since that fourth-grade field trip. But can you identify other landmarks from our somewhat mysterious photo clues?

Test yourself on a dozen photos we’ve gathered, then click to see a larger photo and find out how you did. Historic Hawai‘i Foundation, in cooperation with Cultural Surveys Hawai‘i, prepared an interactive story map and tour, which led to this photo scavenger hunt. Students from Mid-Pacific Institute helped. Go to historichawaii.org to download the map on your computer or mobile device.
