Honolulu’s Romantic Restaurants, Hawaii
Honolulu recently made OpenTable’s list of the most romantic cities in the U.S. at number 18 of 25. We already knew Hawaii has some of the nation’s most romantic restaurants, and have proudly touted them in the past.
Since Valentine’s Day is around the corner, we thought we’d re-share some of our editorial and reader-voted favorites.

If you plan on making reservations at Chef Mavro’s for next week, be sure to order the most romantic dessert on the Island—The Pavlova. They’ll be serving it from February 8 through February 17.
We’ve lost count of how many Hale Aina Awards Michel’s at the Colony Surf has won over the years for most romantic restaurant. In our 2012 Hale Aina Awards feature story, we wrote: “Part of the appeal and romance of Michel’s are the tableside waiter preparations, which are put to good use with the steak au poivre, a black peppercorn-crusted prime New York steak flamed tableside with Jack Daniels, creating a glaze of whisky and meat juices.” 2895 Kalakaua Ave Honolulu, michelshawaii.com
La Mer isn’t that far behind from Michel’s in the number of times it has placed second in our annual Hale Aina Awards for best romantic restaurant. “For $160 a person at La Mer, you want perfection. According to its general manager Stephen Oyadomari, that’s what you get," we wrote in our 2009 Hale Aina Awards feature story. "‘The ambiance is wonderful, we have constant training for our servers to provide excellent service and the food is trendy and exotic,’ says Oyadomari.
