HONOLULU Magazine Wins Multiple Awards, Including a National Prize
HONOLULU Magazine wins a CRMA Award and several Hawai‘i Publishers Association Awards.

Once in a while, we at HONOLULU Magazine like to take a quick break from our regular posting schedule to toot our own horn. On Monday night, we won a national first place award for the best spread design at the 2016 City and Regional Magazine Association Awards in Denver (The CRMA is the national industry association for magazines like us, which makes this the equivalent of an Oscar win.) We were up against other magazines across the country with circulations of less than 60,000, including great publications like Austin Monthly and St. Louis Magazine, so it’s a real honor.
Then, less than 24 hours later, HONOLULU picked up even more awards: At the 2016 Paʻi Awards, given out by the Hawaiʻi Publishers Association, we took home six first-place plaques, in the following categories:
Business & Industry Reporting
“The Everything Guide to Local Chocolate,” in our December 2015 issue
Excellence in Cover Design (Coated Stock)
The March 2015 “Best of HONOLULU” cover
Excellence in Illustration
The opening spread of the January “Sour Poi Awards”

Mana Magazine took second place for Sports Reporting.
