HONOLULU Magazine is a Four-Time Finalist in the 2017 National CRMA Awards

Congrats to the team for being recognized by the City and Regional Magazine Association for writing, design and multiplatform storytelling.

Here at HONOLULU Magazine, we usually tell other people’s stories, but today we’re making an exception to write about ourselves because of a nice shoutout to our team: We’ve received four finalist nominations for the 2017 Awards of the City & Regional Magazine Association.

The CRMA is the national industry association for magazines like us, which makes this the equivalent of an Oscar or Grammy nomination. We received nods in four categories, and our fellow nominees are magazines from across the country, including: Baltimore Magazine, Chicago Magazine, Portland Monthly and St. Louis Magazine. We’re honored to be in such good company.

We’re proud of our team, thankful to our readers and for the opportunity to work with good people at our locally owned publication.

Here’s what got nominated, with links, in case you missed these stories the first time around:

The 170 finalists representing 33 publications were chosen by magazine professionals from around the country in the 32nd year of the CRMA national awards competition. Categories include editorial, design, online, multiplatform storytelling and general excellence. Judges named five finalists in each category and will soon choose one ultimate winner in each for work completed in 2016. Winners will be announced at the CRMA’s 41st Annual Conference May 20–22 at the Hilton Americas—Houston in Houston, Texas.
