HFWF 2014: After-party @ Republik
This year, the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival after-party was moved to The Republik on Friday night, with food tents featuring innovative sample plates by six of Hawaii’s top chefs and guest mixologists from New York creating cocktails inside, with live music by Irie Love and NESIAN N.I.N.E. The star of the show was DJ /Chef Hubert Keller, known both for his signature French restaurants, Fleur de Lys in San Francisco and Las Vegas, and for his skills and enthusiasm behind the decks.
Spotted: “Man v. Food” star Adam Richman, and Honolulu nightlife industry leaders, including Pint & Jigger’s Dave Newman, Pig and the Lady’s Kyle Reutner and Surrender Bar owner Michael Chong.
Most buzzed-about: Tiki master Brian Miller’s flaming pineapple cocktails with Kona coffee-infused Appleton rum, Chef Colin Hazama’s amazing ahi pastrami plate with chicharrones and sweetbread.
