Here is Your Last Chance to See The James Jean Mural

Nothing lasts forever, especially when it’s a mural painted during the annual Pow! Wow! Hawai‘i art event. This month might be your last chance to see the James Jean mural in person at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Luce Pavilion; it’s slated to be covered over as soon as the museum’s installation crew has an open window of time. Interesting tidbit: The mural ties in thematically with another exhibit at the museum: Doris Duke’s Shangri La—Architecture, Landscape and Islamic Art, using patterns and fractal design to evoke common themes in Islamic tradition. honolulumuseum.org
