HONOLULU Magazine editor Robbie Dingeman is in New Zealand right now, documenting the journey of Hawaiian high chief Kalani‘ōpu‘u’s feathered helmet and cloak, which are being returned to Honolulu. The ancient treasures will be on display at the Bishop Museum on a long-term loan.

Dingeman joins about 25 people from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Bishop Museum and Hawaiian Airlines, and is documenting the journey along the way. Take a look at some behind-the-scenes photos from New Zealand, and stay tuned for more soon.
