Hawaii: In Real Life ~ Wanko Wanko

Last month at Eat the Street Black Saturday, the Nonstop Honolulu tent was next to a retail booth called Wanko Wanko (pronounced wahn-ko wahn-ko), selling scarves made from recycled T-shirts. Um, what? No kidding, these things actually looked pretty good.

Well, the movement to be green and recycle is big, and people are always looking for innovative ways to create a completely new product from an old one. Through her shredded scarves and accessories, Aimee Vogelgesang (@Aimeesan) has figured out how to do just that, and look fashionable, too.

Check out Aimee’s scarves, how to wear them, and why these should be a hot gift item for the girls in your life this Christmas:

But wait, there’s more. How about these scarves in different lengths, or different ways to wear them? Aimee talks about all that, plus shows us her friend’s line of clutches made from recycled designer upholstery at HawaiiIRL.com. You could accessorize an outfit using all-recycled items!

Make sure you visit her Facebook page to get the scoop on specials — since these are one-of-a-kind, people clamor to get them, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
