Hawaii Fashion Month launch
Gov. Neil Abercrombie on Tuesday proclaimed October as Hawaii Fashion Month, announcing the launch of the inaugural month-long event to celebrate and promote Hawaii’s fashion industry. Hawaii state Rep. Will Espero joined Abercrombie, Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi) co-founders Melissa White and Toby Portner, along with Mary Alice Evans, Senior Director of the State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, for the announcement at The Modern Honolulu.
The goal of the month-long initiative is to engage the local community, along with visitors from around the world, to connect with, purchase and learn more about Hawaii fashion.
I look forward to sharing behind-the-scenes info and fun facts about Hawaii Fashion Month here at Nonstop Honolulu. To learn about the more than 20 events and opportunities to get involved, visit hawaiifashionmonth.com
