Territorial Airwaves radio host Harry B. Soria Jr. marks a milestone of more than 40 years of playing the vintage music of Hawai‘i this June.

We stopped in to visit with Soria and his wife, Kilohana Silve, famous for opening the first hula school in Paris. Soria explained how a hula trip introduced them to an Italian musical group that had embraced Hawaiian music by listening to his radio show.

Listen to the clip below to hear Soria talk about discovering the Waikīkī Leaks’ unique sound, and read more about Territorial Airwaves in the June issue of HONOLULU. Available on newsstands in June, or purchase the issue at shop.honolulumagazine.com.
