Hanauma Bay is Open Again

Not to worry, snorkelers, one of Hawai‘i’s most popular attractions is back open.

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve normally opens its gates at 6 a.m., Wednesday through Monday, but the bay was closed to swimmers this morning after staff members discovered a large leak in a potable water pipe.

Luckily, workers were able to identify the source of the leak and repair it within hours, and the park resumed normal operations by 11 a.m.
