Chinatown lights up this month in celebration of the Lunar New Year, ushering in the Year of the Goat on the 19th. If that feels relatively late, it is; the varying, lunisolar Chinese calendar means the date usually falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice, sometime between Jan. 21 and Feb. 20. It won’t fall this deep into February again until 2034. We’re just glad it’s time to break out the fireworks and red envelopes!
