Grand opening of PAD at Kaka‘ako

Interior designer Lauren Makk hosted a VIP Champagne and sushi social Friday evening to celebrate the grand opening of her new Kaka‘ako home furnishings store, PAD. An intimate gathering, the event showcased Makk’s colorful and modern design aesthetic, along with her affordable furnishings and accessories. Makk is a former host and interior designer for TLC’s “Trading Spaces” and A&E’s “Drill Team.” She’s now a contributor for KHON2 Wake Up 2day, where she hosts Affordably Fabulous, a bi-monthly segment that offers tips and tricks on home design.

Soon, PAD also will host one- and two-day workshops, instructed by some of the industry’s top professionals to offer expert instruction on how to start and finish do-it-yourself projects.

Located in a warehouse space behind Hank’s Haute Dogs, PAD officially celebrates its public grand opening today (Saturday), from 3-8 p.m. There will be a big inflatable water slide (so bring a towel), free beer and hot dogs, games, prizes, and the best old-school DJs in town.
