Goodwill goes glam

Goodwill Industries of Hawaii held its 19th annual silent auction last night at the Willows Restaurant. The event featured a fashion show, highlighting some glamorous items at bargain prices, and showcased by Anya Rozova from America’s Top Model cycle 10 and local pageant titleholders.

Goodwill also announced that it will be partnering with Planet Green nationally and its show, “Dresscue Me,” to promote repurposing previously owned outfits not just to be fashionable, but to keep them out of landfills. The organization will have a bigger fashion event this summer to promote this program.

Although known for its discount stores around the country, Goodwill’s ultimate goal is to help people with employment barriers to become self-sufficient. The retail outlets provide the funding and training for participants in this process.
