Fresh, healthy items debut at The Street
The Street Test Kitchen opened and Indie Girl expanded

It’s been a year since Michael Mina launched his food hall concept, The Street, in International Marketplace, and he’s looking to launch some new food stations in the next two months to meet the demands and tastes of the customers.
Two of those new stations just opened this week: Indie Girl and The Street Test Kitchen. Indie Girl was already known for its fresh, cold-pressed juices, but is now expanding with healthy vegetarian/vegan superfood dishes. You can’t really find much of that in Waikiki (or much of Honolulu, for that matter), so this is probably one of the more exciting additions right now. Summer is coming, folks!
The Street Test Kitchen is similar to the MINA Test Kitchen in San Francisco, as it will serve as an R&D lab for Mina and his chefs and will showcase a variety of different cuisines thorugh public “pop ups,” as they call it. The first test run is featuring a poke concept with bowls and rolls.
Here are some photos from our tasting recently. I’ll be honest, I had to use their staged PR shots for this blog, because healthy food just does not photograph well. I almost passed on blogging it because my photos weren’t pretty, but once I tasted the food, it was so delicious I had to share it with you.
