Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Plates from Zaratez Mexicatessen

Cinco places to get your tacos, tequila and Tecate:

Zaratez
Zaratez celebrates its first Cinco de Mayo in its brick-and-mortar space. But get here early (Zaratez closes at 4 p.m.) for tacos topped with carnitas (pork), pollo (chicken), carne asada (beef) or chorizo.
1273 S. King St.

Cocina
Cocina moved into its new, cozier spot recently (formerly occupied by Taste). It's usually closed on Mondays, but it will be open today for $3 tacos on house made corn tortillas. BYOM: Bring Your Own Mustache to drink from the Tecate keg. (You can bring your own booze, too, if neither the mustache nor Tecate is your style.)
667 Auahi St., cocinahawaii.com

Cactus
For lunch at Cactus, you can get tacos with mahi mahi fried in a Negra Modelo batter. Come dinner, it's sopes with duck carnitas and mango escabeche; huarache (masa flatbread) topped with nopales, corn and avocado tossed in a guajillo chile vinaigrette; and more. Taste the finer side of tequila in tequila flights and cocktails.

Salt
Salt will be offering achiote pork tacos and ceviche tostadas, plus tequila shots and Negro Modelo chasers for $5.05.

Serg's Mexican Kitchen
Serg's predates all the other joints, but continues to serve some of the best tacos on the island: go with chorizo, carne asada, and al pastor piled onto two pan-fried corn tortillas. BYOB.
