This year’s Honolulu Festival wrapped up Sunday evening with a grand parade down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki. It was an emotional weekend at the festival, with sobering news coming from Japan in the aftermath of last week’s earthquake and tsunami. Organizers decided to cancel this year’s fireworks ceremony, but the rest of the events — geared toward showcasing Pacific Rim cultures and fostering solidarity — went on.
