Eat the Street: Oktoberfest

It was a night of lederhosen, pretzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut and beer steins, as Eat the Street celebrated Oktoberfest.
Stars of the night: German food truck Wurst-Wagen, who had a line across the parking lot all night; Five-0 Ribs, who took the prize for Best Beer Dish with a delicious dark lager stew topped with sauerkraut; Hawaiian Twisted Taters, who came up with an artery-clogging, but oh-so-good, Tater Tray (with kaese spaetzle, bratwurst chunks, tater chips and melted cheddar cheese); OnoPops, with an amazing, creamy Maui Coconut Porter ice cream pop that really hit the spot; and newcomers The Surfing Cactus, who put a twist on Mexican fare with the Discada taco, five meats in beer sauce on a corn tortilla.
Those who went early enough to the beer garden got a chance to try some pumpkin beer and seasonal ales, and to buy a limited-edition Oktoberfest Eat the Street ceramic beer stein. Just 50 were made, and by around 6:30 p.m., they were gone.
