Eat the Street: USA

Comfort food, soul food and quintessentially American dishes like burgers and ribs ruled at Friday’s Eat the Street, held at Kakaako Waterfront Park. It was the debut of the red Toko Express truck, serving up an extremely popular mac and cheese sandwich that sold out long before the end of the night, along with Big and Beast Sandwich and crowd favorites like Tin Hut BBQ, Hawaiian Fresh Farms and Paul’s Poppers.
This month also marked the debut of the Mana Mele solar-powered mobile studio, a long silver van powering the live music stage that is Hawaii’s first solar-powered professional music studio, in addition to being a music and multimedia academy for kids and a mentorship program for fledgling musicians.
