Eat the Street: Kiawe Pizza and Wamos Cookies

As usual, there were lots of fun things to indulge in at Friday’s Eat the Street, themed as a cheese and sausage affair. This time, we focused on two newbies in attendance, Kiawe Pizza and Wamos Cookies, headed up by none other than Wally Amos of Famous Amos cookies fame. Here’s a quick look at the offerings of these newcomers:

Kiawe Pizza made its debut at Friday’s Eat the Street Kaka’ako, although it’s already an ETS player, having served its hand-crafted, artisan pies at recent events in Kapolei and Mililani. As its name suggests, Kiawe’s pizzas are baked in a mobile brick oven using local kiawe wood to give it a robust flavor. They’re made to order, so eaters had to wait at least 10 minutes for their pizzas.
