Eat the Street heads to Mililani
|
Eat the Street, the monthly food truck festival in Kakaako, takes its show on the road (easy when all your vendors are mobile): this Saturday, Eat the Street Mililani debuts with over 30 vendors. Some of the highlights:
Soul Patrol: One of Honolulu’s favorite food trucks, serving up Southern food like jambalaya, fried catfish, buttermilk fried chicken and cheesy grits.
Baja Style Mexican Food: There’s a lot to love from this vendor: barbacoa beef slow-cooked with chiles, oranges and beer; tacos duros–blue corn tortillas filled with ground beef and cotija cheese, and the whole taco deep-fried; pork belly chicharones with crispy skin and doused with a bright chile verde.
Inferno’s: A mobile, kiawe-fired pizza oven. Read more here.
Ultimate Burger: A company from Kailua Kona on the Big Island, specializing in burgers made with ingredients from Big Island ranchers and farmers. The fresh-cut french fries are exceptional.
Hawaii’s Fried Musubi: This truck specializes in everything fried. So yes, musubi, deep-fried, as well as fried chicken, fried Oreos, fried Twinkies and fried cupcakes. What else do you expect from a truck whose slogan is "everything tastes better fried?”
Eat the Street Mililani, September 17, 2 to 7 p.m. at Recreation Center VII on Lehiwa Drive, Mililani, streetgrindz.com.
