The 4th annual Rice Fest, held in the parking lot across from Consolidated Ward 16 Theatres, was a free, fun food festival celebrating one of Hawaii’s staples — rice. Hundreds of people showed up, despite the hot sun, to visit the food vendors and watch the entertainment, including celebrity chef cooking demos, a SPAM musubi-eating contest, a dance performance by the Rascals, rock music by EMKE, ukulele performances by Jody Kamisato & Ukulele Hale, Honoka & Azita and Kapena.
