Did this: Last day of Duke’s OceanFest
I thought we had done better than yesterday in Duke’s OceanFest 2010.
But the scores don’t lie.
Our women’s team — we surfed for Outrigger Hotel & Resorts — racked up 96 points yesterday. Today, we barely scraped 76.
What gives?
Well, first of all, the conditions were different. It was windier and choppier than yesterday. And the waves weren’t as consistent. Still, we — surfing diva Nancy Emerson, radio personality Crystal Akana, KITV’s Amber-Lynn Hyden and Outrigger surf instructor Joanne “JoJo” Howard — had a great time, despite the lame score.
Here’s what Team Outrigger had to say.
We may have finished in last place. But since we were the only all women’s team competing, we were first, too.
At least that’s how we’re going to think about it.
