Did this: Kahala Wine & Food Classic

Last night was the first night of The Kahala Hotel & Resort’s weekend-long Wine & Food Classic, this time featuring chef Cindy Pawlcyn. She’s one of America’s brightest culinary stars and has made guest appearances on Bravo’s “Top Chef” and “Top Chef: Masters.” She has also written four books, including “Mustards Grill Napa Valley Cookbook,” which won the James Beard Foundation Award in 2002 for Best American Cookbook.

I headed off to dinner with my friend Ria Baldevia, which made it an adventure since neither of us had been to the Kahala Classic.

We were excited to take in the first night of the Kahala Resort’s Wine & Food Classic, featuring cuisine by Napa chef Cindy Pawlcyn and wines by Pride Mountain Winery. This weekend-long event happens two or three times a year, each time with different chefs, and always on the Diamond Head lawn.

The event continues through today and tonight with cooking classes and another al fresco dinner on the Diamond Head lawn.
