Highway Inn, the popular Hawaiian food restaurant in Waipahu, will be opening up a second location in Kakaako. With a grand opening slated for November, Highway Inn is still pinning down a date while it makes final touches to the space at the corner of Ala Moana Boulevard and Coral Street. The preview event brought together an impressive array of festivities, including a traditional Hawaiian blessing, Chinese lion dance and live music.

We were treated to an equally impressive spread of such Highway Inn classics as laulau, kalua pig and haupia, but also got a glimpse into possible new menu items.
