Did this: Fashion’s Night Out

Ala Moana Center played host to Fashion’s Night Out 2012, which kicked off Thursday night and featured fashion shows from Louis Vuitton, Old Navy and Neiman Marcus. Guests were invited to in-store events to shop at exclusive sales, indulge in hors d’oeuvres and champagne, and get a sneak peek at the Fall 2012 collections.

Like last year, I produced and styled the in-store Old Navy fashion show. But this year, I wanted more creative input, so I styled the 32 look show as well. Only having 11 days to put everything together was a struggle, but somehow, the Old Navy team and I pulled it off. After the show, we headed over to Neiman Marcus to watch their fashion presentation. Neiman Marcus always puts on the most amazing elegant, well-thought-out shows. Later, Amy Tomita Castro of Neiman Marcus told me that each show displayed over 50 looks. Wow, now that’s a show!

On Saturday, I went to Ala Moana’s Centerstage and caught the last 30 seconds of the fashion show, which was put on every hour on the hour. Perturbed that I had missed all the shows, I was on my way out when I ran into fellow Nonstop blogger Melissa Chang waiting in line to have her picture taken with Bobbie Thomas. For those who may not know her, Bobbie is the “Today” show’s fashion editor, and she was brought in as a special guest speaker. I immediately jumped in line with Melissa. Without a single question prepped, we were approved to interview Bobbie on the spot, and the rest can be viewed in the video below.

All in all, Fashion’s Night Out was a great fashion-filled time. It was the perfect occasion to get dressed up and reconnect with friends.
