The inaugural Bite of Hilo happened last night at the Pagoda Hotel, featuring favorite dishes and ingredients from Hilo. One of the headliners was Hilo High alum Sheldon Simeon, who was a “Top Chef” finalist.
If you love Hilo but can’t always fly to the Big Island for your favorite grinds, this was the perfect event. Loco moco, Two Ladies Kitchen strawberry mochi, Big Island Candies, and bites from KTA (where you’re someone special every day) were some of the featured tables. All that was missing was a gravy burger … well, maybe next year. Here’s what we ate!
