Did this: Ala Moana’s Passport to Luxury

For the third year, Ala Moana capped off its annual, weeklong Shop A Le’a spring fashion event with a fabulous finale. Modern Luxury Hawai’i magazine coordinated an interactive event where attendees were given a “passport” to participating high-end stores to shop for special items (sometimes at special prices). The enticement? Each store featured food and/or drinks, usually presented by a renowned Oahu chef.

Each store also had a silent auction item. All of the proceeds from the evening benefited the Junior League of Honolulu, the Women’s Fund of Hawaii and the Children’s Alliance of Hawaii.

As we visited each store, we got a stamp. After six stamps, we could fill out the entry form and turn it in for a random prize drawing in the mall at the end of the night.

We didn’t get to eat at all 20 stations last night. There just wasn’t enough time between socializing, or enough stomach space. But hopefully, we can try again next year.

People checked in at The Lounge, an area overlooking Centerstage. This also served as a meeting place and a place to … well, lounge.
