Cruising on the Star of Honolulu

People often think of the Star of Honolulu as a touristy thing to do, but I found that it’s a pretty good activity for locals, too. I recently went on the Star’s five star dinner cruise with my Twitter friend Nicole Bilodeau, who happened to be scouting for party venues.

It’s a neat setting for couples or groups of friends, and the service is impeccable. Tricia Murakami and  Kamla Fukushima from the Star of Honolulu say that they’re running a special rate for kamaaina through the end of the year, too: the all-inclusive VIP welcome, dinner, live jazz show, super premium beverages and after dinner cart drink service, is $159.48 per person (tax and harbor fee not included).  If you have a valid Hawaii I.D., you can buy one ticket and get the second one free. The special is available via phone or in person only, and ends December 30.
