Condo with a view at Waikiki Landmark

Yesterday I wrote about a condo in a boutique building in the heart of Waikiki, today we’re going to travel three-quarters of a mile down the road to a much larger high-rise, also in the neighborhood.
Since I moved to Oahu almost a year ago, I’ve been fascinated with the look of the Waikiki Landmark building. Standing tall with its two triangular towers, curved corners and its aqua and pink hues, it has always reminded me of a Transformers toy ready to morph at any moment.

Well, that hasn’t happened yet, but when this newly listed two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath condo in that building came across my desk, I wanted to take a peek inside.
The way the building was constructed makes every apartment a corner unit. This one, perched on the 27th floor, has the largest floor plan that isn’t a penthouse, and commands ocean views from the living room, lanai and bedroom.
“It has a bright, beautiful view,” says realtor Christine O’Brien of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties. “One of the prettiest the Landmark has to offer, except for the penthouse.”

One nice touch is the bedrooms situated on either side of the living room, affording privacy and cutting down on noise when night owls stay up late (or early birds putter in the morning).
Most of the windows open to let in fresh air, but there’s also central A/C to keep you comfortable.

Among the amenities, the huge free-form pool, atop the parking garage, is worth a mention with its waterfall, wading pool and whirlpool. O’Brien says it’s the most dramatic pool in Waikiki.
Fuzz factor: One pet is allowed, but be sure to bring your pooch along on your daily run, there’s a 30-pound maximum.
Two full-size parking stalls, covered and secured, are included in the price.
If you’d like to see it for yourself, it’ll be open on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Click here for details.
Money talk: $720,000 fee simple
