Choon Chun Chicken BBQ
After the party for The Cocktail Handbook, my neighbors Dawn and Derek Paiva wanted to get some real food. Honolulu Magazine Dining Editor John Heckathorn suggested Choon Chun Chicken BBQ, since it was centrally located and was a spot off the beaten path. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Here’s what we ate:

We were excited to go to Choon Chun Chicken BBQ, since we had heard they have really good fried chicken and it’s right in the neighborhood. It’s open from 3:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily and seems to have a mix of families, solo diners, and groups of friends. Parking is available on the street, if you can find it.
