Golden Hour is Prime Time for the Best Bites at 100 Sails Bar

(Partner Content) The restaurant at Prince Waikīkī is celebrated for its buffet, but the bar is serving up pūpū and drinks with serious local cred.

While everyone (us included) raves about the uber popular buffet situation at 100 Sails, we feel it’s our duty to point you to the bar for some of the restaurant’s Best Bites. We’re talking crispy Hurricane tater tots with mochi crunch and furikake ($7), delectable Japanese-style fried chicken wings with a dab of Kewpie mayo ($15) and a chickpea pancake topped with duck leg char siu ($9). Full? Those are just the first round. Other bites include ikura-crowned oyster shooters ($7), kimchi potato salad ($5) and smoked ‘ahi dip with pops of yuzu kosho ($15). Chef Jeremy Shigekane and his team have been hard at work crafting a menu that not only celebrates local flavor, but honors ingredients grown and sourced in the Islands.

These bites back up a menu of signature cocktails crafted by bar manager Deon Togami, who also highlights Kōloa Rum and other spirits with his mixology magic. For a seductive sip, we especially like the cacao-strawberry cocktail ($10) using Kōloa’s cacao rum.

The Golden Hour menu is available daily from 5 p.m., exclusively in the bar and lounge seating at 100 Sails.
