Awesome eats this Thursday: Alicia’s Market mix plate

alicias-2-of-2

Alicia’s Market is a main reason foodies make pilgrimages to Kalihi. Tucked on the makai side of Mokauea Street, behind a vintage Coca-Cola sign, Alicia’s is a hidden gem within a hidden gem. At the very back, where foodies, truckers and construction workers line up, is a poke counter with dozens of varieties, right next to a hot case with turkey tails, char siu and crispy-licious roast pork.

Spicy ahi poke and that roast pork star in this Thursday’s Awesome eats lunch pop-up, when Alicia’s comes to the corner of Bishop and King streets downtown. Mac salad, kimchee and rice complete a mixed plate that will satisfy the biggest appetites, for $10.61.

Alicia’s is bringing a limited supply of lunches, so be sure to pre-order to guarantee your bento.
